About Robin

A thorough working knowledge of the property market honed over years of experience in the Otago region stands Robin Hyndman in good stead as owner and director of the Commercial and Industrial arm of Bayleys Dunedin.

A background in property development and project management has given Robin a robust understanding of the commercial and industrial property realm.

Invaluable insights into the mechanics of property development were gained when Robin drove the design, construction, sales and leasing of the Denarau Villas in Fiji and the Villa Del Lago apartments in Queenstown; along with project managing the building of three office buildings in Dunedin (including Otago House) and Queenstown. Robin was also responsible for the construction overseeing of New Zealand’s biggest poultry farm in Waikouaiti, near Dunedin.

“These ventures gave me a core understanding of project viability and an in-depth understanding of all the component parts of development such as contracts, funding, construction and leasing,” says Robin.

Combine these practical skills with AREINZ status, the strength of the Bayleys brand both nationally and internationally along with Robin’s formidable local Otago contacts and it is easy to see why much of Otago’s commercial and industrial business is driven through Bayleys Dunedin.

“Bayleys’ representation throughout New Zealand provides enquiry from across the company and with our international alliance with Cushman and Wakefield, Otago commercial and industrial property can be exposed to a global market,” explains Robin.

Otago bred, Robin is Vice-President of the Dunedin Amenities Society (an old and venerable society that contributes time, spirit and money in the betterment of Dunedin) and is a former Club Captain of the Otago Golf Club (the oldest golf club in the Southern Hemisphere!)
